about

On July 5 we met for some improvisational music making at the Trinity Buoy Wharf where Jem has based his wonderful Longplayer project. Rediscovered on an old hard drive recently, nearly twenty years later, here it is! Never intended for release, really. Some parts may have been played on Resonance FM when I had a guest spot, I recall.

The B track features Jem reading from Thomas Pynchon's 'The Crying of Lot 39', with live processing I was doing a lot at the time, programmed in SuperCollider, which accumulates 'silences', which includes Jem's breaths and mouth noises, and uses them as the raw material for further exploration.
