about
Jane Henry plays "with bowed distortions and distorted bows" (www.janehenry.com). Some of her special bows were made by artist/musician Jerry Hunt and incorporate unusually abrasive materials. She is a very inventive improvisor. We met at STEIM in Amsterdam. On this occasion I was processing her violin through my Sprawl software, capturing short samples and using them in various ways to build layers of sound.
The other half of our concert on this date was released as a track on my CD "Memory Like Water" (XI Records 2006)
